As Canada’s only think tank with an office in DC, the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s Center for North American Prosperity and Security (CNAPS) has spent the last year building relationships in Congress, with the think tanks, the media and the major players in the incoming administration. We are now uniquely positioned to be the indispensable bridge connecting this new America with Canada and vice-versa.
In our first year of operation CNAPS: published 45 op-eds, co-hosted 5 major events in DC in collaboration with major US think tanks, and provided non-partisan briefings to over 30 Congressional staff in both the House and Senate. Our expertise is highly sought after on topics such as critical minerals, energy, national security and defense, the northern border, free trade, and more.
But there is more to do. As we enter into a new Presidential Administration, and with the Canada US Mexico Agreement under review in 2026, CNAPS will ensure Canada has a serious voice at the table.
