How organized crime operates in Canada: Sam Cooper and Peter Copeland for Inside Policy Talks

This episode is a part of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s Inside Policy Talks podcast – see more episodes here.

There’s a growing sense on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border that something is very wrong when it comes to our security. From compromised institutions to the flow of drugs and organized crime, a web of foreign influence and transnational operations has been emerging as concern.

Sam Cooper, one of Canada’s top investigative journalists, has been a leading force in uncovering and reporting on these issues. He joins Peter Copeland, deputy director of the Domestic Policy Program at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, to discuss the threats Canada faces, and the kind of political will and policy approaches it will take to overcome them.

This material is distributed by CNAPS on behalf of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute. Additional information is available at the Department of Justice, Washington, DC.
